Bulgarian productions competing against films from 21 countries

With great satisfaction I want to share with you that throughout the years the Bulgarian productions are very strong in the competition...

After last years’ big success of the production “The magic of the Kasanlak rose” with producer Kasanlak Municipality and the “Our Home Bulgaria” foundation the stakes are high for all Bulgarian producer now. I think this is the reason for the small number of participants from Bulgaria this year – thirteen. It is significant however for our producers’ self-assessment that 8 of these productions are nominated and 4 of them are awarded in the different categories. Everybody who’s participated in such competition or festival knows that their success strongly depends on their competitors’ power and this year, I assure you, the competition was monstrous. The new trends in tourism marketing were clear – productions with plot. While in past years’ editions these types of productions were an exception, this year the main fight was between interesting and provocative stories about destinations and products. Exceptional creative decisions, inspiring messages, provocative and challenging – they make you want to pack your suitcase! I highly recommend you to watch the films, if not during the International Exhibition “Cultural Tourism”, then on our website www.toufilm-bg.com or on our YouTube channel. You will see for yourself that the success of this years’ productions is no less than last years’. This is why I think that the Festival becomes more and more useful for the tourism ofBulgaria – first with the presentation of the achievements and the trends in the tourism advertising and second, we see the new ideas for creating tourism products and third, the clients for films, clips and advertisements have a clearer vision of what team they need for their production and last but not least, meeting and engaging with people and teams from different cultures. Now, as I am looking through our websites’ “festival goals”, without any hesitation I can say, I am pleased – for me, for my team, for the jury, for the partners – we do a good job!


     

The main objectives

The main objectives of the Festival are:

  • To present to the public films and productions about tourist products and destinations;
  • To stimulate investments in tourism promotion of cultural and historical heritage;
  • To show the good practices and promote the latest trends in tourism filmmaking;
  • To rouse the interest of the tourist business and production companies towards tourism film products;
  • To encourage film industry professionals to turn their efforts and specialize in tourism filmmaking;
  • To create conditions for highly efficient promotional content.
