Prof. Dr. Sc. Lina Anastasova

Chairman of the Jury, Тourism
Marketing Specialist, Lecturer at
the Burgas Free University

“Tourism is not only an important
branch of economy – it is a phe-
nomenon, the essence of which is
the international hospitality, and it
serves to bring together the peoples
of the global world. Tourism as a
business sells dreams, visions and

notions, hence comes the importance of the presentation and the
promotion of tourist attractions, regions and landmarks through
evocative audio-visual formats. The Film Festival “On the East Coast
of Europe” is the right forum for presentation of these informative
promotional products, which popularize tourist destinations. I am
happy that, being a member of the Jury, I am part of this magic –
the meeting of art and tourism!”

Simeon Idakiev

Journalist, TV show host and
Screenwriter

“Lately I often find myself thinking
that Bulgaria does belong to Europe
not only geographically, but may in
fact be the better part of it, because
of the relatively well preserved
cultural and natural landmarks,
traditions, folklore… For me this is
the significance and the main goal

of our Festival – to discover and make popular these infinite trea-
sures and the things we share in common with other peoples.”

Prof. Dr. Sc. Emilia Stoeva

Lecturer in Film and television
cinematography at the National
Academy for Theater and Film Arts

“In the 17th century, the French
Enlighteners believed that the core
of all fine arts was the imitation of
Nature. Today we have a new form
of art called CINEMA, which not
only reflects nature but artistically
transforms it as well. That is the

kind of films we see at the Festival „On the East Coast of Europe”. It
is an honor for me to be a part of the beauty of this Festival.”

Antoni Tsonev

Film Director, Organizing Secretary
of the Tour Film Festival

“Nobody remembers the Jury –
what is to be remembered are the
films. Let the films in this Festival
have a long life on screen and tell
the tales of the beauties of our
wonderful country – Bulgaria.”

Ass. Prof. Dr. Sc. Marin Damyanov

Writer and screenwriter, Lecturer
in Cinema dramaturgy

“I am interested in tour films as a
spectator as well. They charge me
with new ideas. More than once it
has happened, after I have seen a
film about a beautiful and interest-
ing place, to go visit it. And then,
after the visit, I want to see the film
again, however this time with a

new feeling, as a film about an old friend… I hope the Festival will
inspire me with ideas about new and exciting trips. I believe that
teaching people to appreciate and love the beautiful country we live
in is a way to teach them how to keep and maintain it clean. And
our new big country – United Europe – has gathered a great part
of the most beautiful landmarks of the world. I want to know more
about them! Money is being spent, objects gradually do get broken
or lost and life slowly slips by… Forever ours are only the impres-
sions from the beautiful places we have visited and the people who
made us happy. The Festival supports noble causes and I am glad
and proud to join the Jury of “On the East Coast of Europe”!
